AFSCME Local 101

Fellow Union Members,

It’s election time again and for us locally here in Santa Clara County, it may be the biggest election in a generation. Labor vs. Business majorities on Councils and Boards are up for grabs all over the South Bay. From Santa Clara and San Jose to Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Valley Water and even our School Board(s). The people we elect to public office have a direct impact on our jobs and our ability to provide the communities we serve with high quality, public services.

We need AFSCME Local 101 members to show up with their friends and families and join other AFSCME members from throughout the South Bay on a few key dates to help push labor friendly candidates over the line. The polls are neck and neck, but WE have the people power to make the difference for working families. No experience or prior knowledge is necessary to participate! Training and demos will be provided for any shift. It really is very easy, fun, and fulfilling. We will email you a calendar invite with relevant logistical information to set you up for success once you RSVP for a shift. Join your AFSCME brothers and sisters there! All the time you ever thought to yourself, “I wish there was something more I could do”. This is it! This is the opportunity knocking on your door to say enough to wages not keeping up with the cost-of-living. To say enough to expensive healthcare costs. To say enough to retirement uncertainty. We see it all over the news, people everywhere are finally standing together and declaring “enough is enough”. Join me.

Please RSVP and join your coworkers on one or more of the following dates:

Saturday October 1 at 10AM – 1:00: Please join us and other Labor Unions as we walk precincts for various pro-labor candidates. Ballots go out soon after this date so reaching as many likely labor voters as possible is key. Join us at 2302 Zanker Road in San Jose

Saturday Oct. 8 at 10AM – 1:00: The Cindy Chavez for Mayor campaign is having a Women's Empowerment Day of Action on this Saturday which also is the weekend prior to ballots being mailed out. The Chavez campaign is relying on us to come help on that day by walking precincts and dropping off literature at voters’ doors. Join us at 1351 Lincoln Ave. in Downtown Willow Glen.

Saturday October 29 at 10:00AM – 1:00: This is the weekend when early voting vote centers open up and prior to voting weekend. Join us at 2302 Zanker Road in San Jose.
